W-Am Welcome to the Central Valley Environmental Center. We're so grateful to all of you, our volunteers, for coming out today to help with this project to install bluebird nest boxes. The Eastern bluebird is a native species that plays an important role in our environment, but it's threatened by habitat loss and predation. We have numerous donated nest boxes here that will help protect our local bluebird population. Remember that bluebirds prefer open woodlands and grasslands with scattered trees. Some suitable locations are already identified on the maps you've received.
